London Bridge and Sorrento

We had a beautiful day down at the end of Mornington Peninsula this week. We drove all the way down the Napean Highway to one of the London Bridge's. After a delicious breakfast in Sorrento (organic pancakes with icecream, sprinkles and whip cream for the win!) we headed down the beach to see London Bridge - one of Mornington Peninsula's famous rock formations.
Once again we found ourselves on a nearly empty beach to our delight! Jer is getting good at stairs and sand walking which is amazing since he was barely putting weight on his foot before we left! I'm sure this is a part of his physical therapy plan. :)

This beach was incredibly stunning because to the left was soft gold sand as far as we could see and to the right were stunning rock formations  - a series of shelves below the level of the ocean washing over them, creating tidepools, rivers and waterfalls. We could have watched the water washing over them for hours.
This shows the level of the rock shelves. Gorgeous.

The tide pools were clear, deep and beautiful!

We played and explored for a few hours!

A view from above! There are many Rock Pools along the coastline but these have been my favorite.

The biggest tide pool!

London Bridge.

On to Millionaire's Walk of Sorrento! This is an iconic walk along the coastline through the yards of Sorrento's rich and famous homes. It quite literally feels like trespassing! Australia's most famous impressionist paintings are of views from this walk.

I couldn't get over the mint green water, long docks and boat houses. Just behind us are gorgeous old homes and sprawling yards and I never thought to take a picture looking away from the water! I was mesmerized.

At the end of our walk - some iconic bathing boxes.

We wrapped up our day with gellato on the streets of Sorrento, a sleeping baby in the car on a winding drive home along the coastline, and a quick pit stop to run our legs to the water one last time before bed. What a perfect day!
