We stood on a cliff and watched the kite surfers for a long time and Jeremy found his next adventure. Just watching the kite surfers was exhilarating and I don't think we were even out of the parking lot before he was googling where he can try it at home after his achilles heals.
Bell's Beach and a few of the surfers there. Jeremy was sure to remind me that Bell's Beach was the infamous beach at the end of Point Break. We were both excited to see Bode walking around the cliff in one of the next photos. (Disclaimer: Sadly the last seen in Point Break was actually filmed near Cannon Beach in Ecola and not Australia - so we were happy to finally make it there for those two guys).
There's Bode.
Ireland admiring the cool caves. And pointing out where Bode walked RIGHT BY HER. She was starstruck.
Along the Great Ocean Road.
So, we made it all the way to Apollo Bay (we REALLY wanted to drive to the 12 Apostles, but we could not figure out how to make it there on the 6 hour drive with three kids each way!) and that was a long enough day for all of them! So we stopped on the way home when we saw a really cool beach with tons of boogie boarders, even though it was 5pm and we still had a two hour drive home. It was totally worth it! Here's Ireland giving a little shout out to walking in the waves which is HILARIOUS.
Happy little boogie boarders staying on the beach past our bedtime.
Goodbye Great Ocean Road! We have seen so much of this country, there's only a handful of things we are putting on our "retirement trip" list. The Great Ocean Road is one of them! This road and this part of the country is so beautiful and to see it all would be a dream.
