Tasmania: Hobart to Cockle Creek

We drove south after four days to the southern tip of Tasmania. We stopped in the city of Hobart along the way to catch the Salamanca Market. It was huge and we spent the entire afternoon there eating and browsing our way through. This part of Tasmania had the closest climate and landscape to home for us.  In fact, each night, we had to have a fire in the wood stove for heat due to the chilly temperatures (in the 40's overnight).

Right after a little rainstorm when we arrived, we were greeted by this rainbow out our window!

Our stay at this little cabin in Eggs and Bacon Bay was one of our favorite places we've stayed! It was totally adorable and homey. The perfect place to curl up during our coldest weather here.

This is the view from the top of the hill down to the cabin on the bay - the bay is at the top right corner. This steep and windy drive wove in and out of sheep and farmlands.
The market in Cygnet - the little town closest to us.

We drove south to the most southern point in Tasmania - the next nearest land is Antarctica! And we felt this water and it was COLD!

Back to our little cabin and the kids walked home along the bay. The adults broke out a bottle of wine and some cheese to fully enjoy our little slice of heaven beach.

Ireland is getting so independent. Eating breakfast all by herself like the big kids.

Back through Hobart and seeing some Christmas cheer!

Everywhere on the island - watch out for Tasmanian Devils!
